Alonso opens up about his dream Europa League final with Liverpool and hints at the possibility of moving to manage a team in the Premier League.

Xabi Alonso responded to the media after being asked before the game against West Ham in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals this Thursday about the possibility of moving to work at English Premier League in the future, even though he recently refused to accept the baton from Jurgen Klopp to manage Liverpool next season.

“Who knows because right now I have a lot to think about, but I’m still a beginner in my managerial career. And of course it would be nice if I could work there one day,” Alonso said.

“I’ve talked to colleagues who have been through the Premier League and they say that everything is very difficult. including preparation, planning, and doing a good job.”

“It’s an exciting league for me. There are many top players, good stadiums, good coaches and quality teams, and West Ham is one of them. And we must respect our opponents on Thursday. But we will do our best to make it through.”

When asked by the media about his dream final in which Bayer Leverkusen would meet Liverpool, Xavi replied: “First of all we have to work hard to make that possible. Of course we are focusing on West Ham and I believe they are doing the same with Atalanta as well. For me the final in Dublin is still too far away. Because right now we are only in the final 8 teams.”
